Our friend Adeline Borra-Aoust is famous! We met this talented chef in our home because we won a charity auction and the prize was an evening cooking with Adeline. A great chef to learn from and very down to earth too. When we saw that her dish was featured in Atlanta magazine, we had to make it and it was a bonus that it was a dessert! So get the magazine and see below as we follow the recipe.
Research:
We noticed that our friend Adeline has a recipe in Atlanta Magazine. You can find it here.
Plan:
Gather the following ingredients:
A puff pastry - get the pre-made because life is short...
3/4 stick of butter
7-8 apples. We peeled and 1/8th'd them
1/2 cup sugar
Preheat the oven to 380 degrees.
assemble as directed
Execution:
Prep the ingredients first then melt about 2/3s of the butter and about half the sugar
Place the apples and dot with remaining butter and sugar
Cook in the pan on medium heat until golden brown
Cover with the puff pastry and sprinkle with sugar
bake for 25 minutes
Let it cool a little then flip
Then whip up some whipped cream!
1 cup of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
And serve!
Verdict:
A great and simple dessert that is a better alternative to apple pie. We loved it Adeline!
